And of course it’s Labor Day, which allegedly celebrates and honors those of us who work our butts off to keep other people comfortable and happy. I don’t feel very honored or celebrated. I feel like a tool that’s been put back in the toolbox until it’s needed again, while the whole nation gets drunk and stuffs its pie hole.
Honestly – we don’t need parades, gifts, speeches, greeting cards or even a special day of our own. The best way to honor hard-working people is to help us when we ask (which we won’t do often, because we prefer doing for ourselves whenever possible), and refrain from doing lazy, careless and stupid things that makes our jobs harder than they should be. Do these 2 things consistently, and we’ll be happy with that.
