Regulus, our new kitten, has been pooping underneath our living room futon. Luckily, it’s easy to move the futon and clean up the mess, but I haven’t yet figured out how to make him stop doing that.
All of our cats are pooting gasbags, releasing what seems like several tons of methane every few hours. Because of this, I’m used to smelling cat gas on a regular basis, which is why I keep things handy to fan it away.
Regulus, however, has added the smell of fresh feline feces to the mix, and I never know when it’s likely to happen. Now when I smell something methane-like, I have to grab a flashlight and look under the futon to make sure no new deposits have been made. I can safely assume the smell is just gas if I see Regulus asleep. If he’d just laid one down, he’d be running, because he already knows he’s not supposed to be doing that.
I’m really looking forward to him growing out of this nasty habit.
